Another Week. . .

Mom!

I started reading your email and with that first line I just figured I was talking to Megan until I saw the part about the temple and then I was really confused. You didn’t get home from the temple untill 11:30 pm!! That’s insane mom; but, no worries, in ten more months you’ll come home to yogurt and candy!!

I did hear about the super long movie in the temples now.  I'm going to have a hard time sitting still for that long! Our ZL meetings in Singapore are four hours long!! Four hours of sitting in a chair. . .at least, they are big comfortable chairs! On Monday, we had to help with the boy band concert thing—Beyond 5 came to Kuching and I was VIP security.  So on Tuesday, we got to take a day off and drove in some vans to this village that was a super long way away. The villagers put on a cool show with Iban and other tribal dances.  They even picked someone out of the audience to shoot a blowgun!  It was super cool.
Sago worms anyone?

Guess what I did mom?? I ate a live Sago worm.  I almost threw up twice, but I finally got it down. Aren’t you proud of me?? (Wouldn’t any mother be? – Martha)

This week was really good.  We met with this one family who has the funniest kid ever. We just joked around with him for like an hour! We have been working really hard to meet with the members in the branch and find people to teach through them. (That’s the best way--and the easiest. Anything beats knocking doors in the rain!)

We also met with several families from our branch this week.  I think that is my favorite part of my mission--spending time with the members. They are all just so strong!  It’s crazy to see people running branches and districts who have been members for only six or seven years; and, they do such an amazing job at it! I think that is something bishops in America could learn is how much time the branch presidencies spend here just visiting people to show them that they care. Every single night the branch presidency goes out and visits people; it’s like one big family. They know every single member in the branch whether they are active or whether they haven't been to church in years. Our second counselor is the funniest guy ever. He is a super old guy that always has the biggest smile on his face. We taught him how to tie a tie the other night!

I basically have ten more months left! July 3rd is not too far! We are almost there!! Love you!
