MOM

Thank you for the money--I got it just in time.  When we go to Singapore, they expect us to pay for the subways and pay for everything that we eat--all out of our own pocket!  So, I really needed some extra money.  I got my new companion, Elder Robbins.   You would love him!  He had an internship before his mission as a dress designer.  He loves designing women’s dresses and is going to major in fashion!  Elder Robbins reminds me of the companion from The Best 2 Years movie.  He always speaks to me in Malay (His Malay is terrible, but so was mine coming from the MTC, so it’s okay).  Every person he sees, he runs up to and says apa khabar, which means "what’s up!"  People will answer him back and he stares blankly at them and then looks over at me!!  Haha!  Helping him has actually helped me with my own language skills a lot!! We also baptized Eching the other night—right after Elder Robbins and I got in from Singapore.  So, Elder Robbins had been in Malaysia for like 2 hours and BOOM he already has baptized someone!

This is my first week of being a training/district leader.  I hate it! It is scary, every single day.  My first day as DL I had to give four people a baptismal interview!!  Plus, when we got back from Singapore, I had to give six people blessings. It was pretty scary; but, once again...a good learning experience! I also have to train the whole District.  I love training, but besides my greenie, I am the youngest Elder out here--so why would they listen to me? The Zone Leaders have been coming over to help me prepare my trainings. Other than training the District and all my Sunday callings, all I have to do is get everyone’s numbers every week. Nothing too special—haha.

This week, I drank some the of the locals favorite corn soda....it was interesting.  It is a green color--I don’t really know what to think about it.

Okay momma, I love you tonz and miss you. Only 15 more months and I’ll be home. Speaking of which, as I was walking home in the rain the other day I started day dreaming about going on vacations so I that I would feel better.  I day dreamed about you and me going to NY to see all the church sites and then going to the city!! So, if we ever win the lottery.....
