This week in Melaka has been pretty slow,
but still good! We went to district conference in KL (Kuala Lumpur) and
that was pretty good! On Saturday we were supposed to meet this guy on the very
top of Melaka, so we rode our bikes forever and then he just ended up ditching
us! We had a little time on our hands, so we decided to go exploring in the
jungle. We went into the jungle and
found a little kampong (village) there! We knocked on the three or four houses
that weren’t Malay and got a Tamil family to teach!! It was pretty cool. We also had a great thanksgiving dinner! The
sisters made us a huge dinner; we had two chickens, a thing of stuffing, and
everything. I also got a calling in the
branch, I am the Branch Santa. I have to be Santa for the party on
Saturday so that should be pretty exciting! I have been getting better at practicing my Malay. The locals now only laugh at me
sometimes instead of all the time. Our
investigator is still on date for his December 23rd baptism and he is doing
pretty well!! He comes up with some really,
really hard questions though--like he asked if it’s okay for him to invest
money in alcohol and tobacco companies.
I’m 20 years old! How am I supposed to know that! We just told him that the church hasn’t made a
stand on it, so it’s up to his judgment. Sorry not a lot to write about!! But, I love you momma and miss you!!
